Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail Sert

He completed his medical education in 2005 at Ege University Faculty of Medicine and his specialization in general surgery in 2011 at İzmir Tepecik Training and Research Hospital. During his specialty training, he worked on pancreatic islet cell transplantation, liver-pancreas surgery, and organ transplantation at the University Hospital of Geneva in Switzerland. He continued his training at Erasmus MC University Hospital in the Netherlands in the fields of liver, pancreas, bile duct surgery, and organ transplantation. After returning to Turkey, he received training at the Liver Transplant Institute of Malatya İnönü University and started a doctoral program at the same institution. In 2018, he established and managed the Liver Transplant program at Tepecik Training and Research Hospital. In addition to the Turkish Surgical Association Proficiency Certificate, he also holds the European Board of Surgery Qualification (Transplant Surgery). Since August 2023, he has been continuing his work in advanced liver, pancreas, bile duct surgery, and oncologic surgery at his private clinic in İzmir.

Prof. Dr. Kaan Karayalçın

He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1987 and completed his general surgery specialization training at the same university in 1993. Throughout his academic career, he worked at important centers abroad. Between 1992 and 1993, he worked at the Liver Unit of Birmingham Queen Elizabeth Hospital in England. He then served in the Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery Unit of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, USA, and in the Hepato-Biliary Surgery Unit of Paul Brousse Hospital in Paris. He became an associate professor at Ankara University in 1998 and a professor in 2003. For nearly twenty years, he has concentrated his work in the field of liver, bile duct, and pancreas surgery. He is currently working in the relevant unit affiliated with the Department of General Surgery at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine and accepts patients at his private practice.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aydıncan Akdur

Prof. Dr. M. Fatih Can

He graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 1998 and completed his general surgery specialization in 2006 at Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GATA). In 2011 and 2012, he spent a total of 15 months working in institutions such as the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and BIDMC Harvard Medical School in the USA, and ASAN Medical Center in South Korea, focusing on laparoscopic-robotic liver, pancreas, stomach surgery, and liver transplantation. He became an associate professor in 2012 and a professor in 2019. By ranking first in the examination held in Germany, he became the first holder in Turkey of the “European Liver-Pancreas Surgery Qualification Certificate” (FEBS – HPB). He also holds the title of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.). After serving at Lokman Hekim University between 2019 and 2021, he continued his work at his private practice in Ankara.

Prof. Dr. Erhun Eyüboğlu

He completed his medical education in 1981 at Istanbul University Edirne Faculty of Medicine and his general surgery specialization in 1986 at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. Between 1986 and 1987, he received cancer surgery training at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in the USA, and in 2010 he worked on gastric cancer surgery at the Tokyo National Cancer Foundation Hospital in Japan. He is the physician who performed the first laparoscopic left colon resection operation in Turkey. He became an associate professor at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1989 and a professor in 1996; he served as dean between 2005 and 2006. He later held administrative positions such as dean and head of department at Kemerburgaz and Altınbaş Universities. He currently continues his work in the field of Obesity and Digestive System Surgery at Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital in Istanbul.

Prof. Dr. Oktar Asoğlu

He completed his specialization training in 1996 in the Department of General Surgery at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (Çapa). Throughout his career, he received training at leading medical centers in the United States. In 2003, he worked in the Department of General Surgery at Mayo Clinic (Minnesota), and in 2004, he served in the gastric, colorectal, and hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery services at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York). After receiving the title of associate professor at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, he continued his academic career. In 2015, he received the title of “Surgeon of Excellence” in both Robotic Surgery and Colorectal Surgery from Surgical Review Corporation, an international auditing organization. He is a member of many national and international scientific organizations. He continues his work at his private practice in Istanbul.

Prof. Dr. Serkan Keskin

He completed his medical education at Trakya University Faculty of Medicine and his specialization in Internal Medicine in 2006 at Taksim Training and Research Hospital. In 2009, as the runner-up in Turkey in the Medical Subspecialty Examination (YDUS), he began medical oncology training at Istanbul University Oncology Institute and graduated in 2013. He also ranked first in Turkey in the Medical Oncology Association Proficiency Exam in 2012. After his compulsory service, he started working at Memorial Şişli Hospital in 2015 and established the Oncology Center there. He became an associate professor in 2014 and a professor in 2019. He is a member of international oncology societies such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). He continues his duty as Head of the Oncology Center Department at Memorial Şişli Hospital.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Benekli

He graduated from Hacettepe University English Faculty of Medicine in 1992 and completed his internal medicine specialization at the same university in 1997. Between 1999 and 2001, he completed a medical oncology subspecialty fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in the USA, and then finished an advanced fellowship in Stem Cell and Bone Marrow Transplantation at the same center. By passing the American Board (ABIM) examinations, he received certification in both Internal Medicine (2006) and Medical Oncology (2007). Returning to Turkey in 2003, he started working at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, became an associate professor in 2004, and a professor in 2009. At Gazi University, he undertook administrative duties such as Head of the Medical Oncology Division, Chief Physician of the Hospital, and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. Since November 2016, he has been serving his patients at his private practice in Ankara.

Prof. Dr. Aziz Yazar

He completed his medical education in 1993 at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and his internal medicine specialization in 1997 at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. He completed his medical oncology subspecialty in 2005 at Istanbul University Oncology Institute. He became an associate professor in 2004 and a professor at Acıbadem University in 2010. Throughout his career, he has served in the private healthcare sector as well as academic institutions such as Istanbul University and Mersin University. After working at the American Hospital between 2005 and 2007, he has continued his duty as a Medical Oncology specialist within Acıbadem Healthcare Group since 2007. He is a member of professional organizations such as the Turkish Oncology Association and the Istanbul Medical Chamber.

Prof. Dr. Başak Oyan Uluç

She completed her medical education at Hacettepe University; she graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 1996 and received her Internal Medicine specialization in 2001 and her Medical Oncology subspecialty in 2004 at the same institution. In 2004, she became entitled to receive the European Medical Oncology Certificate (ESMO). In 2017, she participated in the “Visiting Physician Program” at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute affiliated with Harvard University in the USA. Continuing her academic career at Yeditepe University, she became an associate professor in 2006 and a professor in 2012, and served as Head of the Medical Oncology Division at this institution. Between 2014 and 2016, she served as Secretary General of the Turkish Medical Oncology Association, and between 2021 and 2024, as President of the Oncology and Immunotherapy Association. She has been working at Acıbadem Healthcare Group since 2016.

Prof. Dr. Faysal Dane

His academic and clinical career was shaped at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine. He completed his medical education in 1997, his Internal Medicine specialization in 2002, and his Medical Oncology subspecialty in 2005 at the same university. He spent all stages of his academic career at the same institution; he started as a lecturer in 2005 and received the titles of associate professor in 2010 and professor in 2016 at Marmara University. This process enabled him to develop a consistent clinical approach within the institution. After a career of more than 20 years at Marmara University, he joined Acıbadem Healthcare Group in 2020 and continues his work in the field of Medical Oncology there. He is a member of important professional organizations such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), and the Turkish Medical Oncology Association.
